Chapter 22 - Wreckx-n-Side-Effects

Here’s a fun, little known fact.  The side effects from chemo don’t hit all at once and don’t hit any two people the same way.  They are, unfortunately, cumulative.  So, I’ve been foolishly confident, walking around thinking, “This ain’t so bad….I can handle this…I’m young, I’m strong.”  Pffffft.

All that changed with round #14…and things have gotten worse each time since.  I won’t go into detail (ain’t nobody want to hear all that), but I will admit that each round now knocks me down substantially more, and each round is harder for me to bounce back from.

I have one more session in late June and then I’m headed back to MSK in NYC for scans. We need the scans to show enough shrinkage/reduction that they are willing to halt chemo right now and go in to go after it.  I DO feel confident that there has been shrinkage, but I’m not confident that they’ll say, “ok…let’s pop you up on the operating table.”

I’m afraid they’ll send me back to PA for six more rounds of chemo and that is going to make for a miserable Summer/early Fall.

As always, I appreciate all the prayers, good vibes and good ju ju that can be sent my way.

I’ll keep you all posted with the scan results in early July. 🤞🏻
